Note that the station is just how you find it when arriving at
P40V as picture above. Expect for clean clothes nothing else was
needed to run this fine station.
Flew a 240' wire on kite for 160 in arrl 2002 during 1st night.
Conditions were not that great but we did well on Multi's that
night.
The ARRL DX contest 2002 was my 1st ARRL World Low Power Win.
Carl and Sue were there providing support with food and drink.
What great hosts!! Great food too. Carl was on the CW shortly
after the contest getting in his time working JA's on 40.
The 80 kite meter antenna didn't go in 2002 WW The idea was a
HIGH dipole rather then holding up a loop. not enough wind OR
not enough kite Storm to the west hurt the winds. My Dad (73) a
non-ham went with me on this trip to see the island and cook
during the contest. He also brought in the kites Sat morning out
of the catus fields. Good help!
Carl P40V has sold the cottage on P4 - 2003.

In Oct. 2000 P40P set a new World Low Power record in WW SSB.
The main event that carried that was 28mhz opening - strong
openings into the USA. My Son went with me this trip. He was
about 15 at the time. Good cook. I have no idea what he did for
the total 48 hours but the food and drink showed up regularly. A
comment for what it's worth. The 87A was moved off the table and
placed under the couch in shack. out of sight, out of mind for
the Low Power operation. The picture of the low power operation
is at http://www.qsl.net/w5aj/P40Pstation.htm This is also the
operation that I recorded. Someday we'll publish some findings
on the UNB vs. recording
In Oct. 2002 P40P set a new World Record for SOHPA in WW SSB.
Carl never showed me the phone bill but it runs about 8 cents a
minute for internet in 2002. I used a dialer and connected about
once every 14 minutes or so. RF was BAD into the phone lines.
